Insurance of your shipment:
If you choose not to insure your shipment, TarkaJewels.com will not be liable to refund the cost of your purchase should the postal services fail to deliver it. Jewellery must be insured in order to make a claim to the Royal Mail, as claims cannot be made under ordinary post.
General
These Terms & Conditions of use are governed by the law of England and you and we agree to use the English courts if there is any dispute between us.
If any part of these Terms & Conditions of use is found to be invalid by law, the rest of them remain valid and enforceable.
Terms & Conditions for buying goods online
By placing an order using this service you are accepting these Terms & Conditions. Please read these Terms & Conditions before placing an order.
In these Terms & Conditions
"We" and "us" means TarkaJewels.com.
"You" means the person placing an order.
"The contract is agreed" - by completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. An acceptance email from us confirms that the contract is formed.
"Working days" means all days other than Saturdays, Sundays and English statutory and public holidays.
By using the website to buy goods online, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or, if you are under 18, that you are accessing the website with the consent of your parent or guardian. We do not sell goods to children online, but we do sell children's goods for purchase by people over 18.
Ordering, cancelling before despatch and returning after despatch
Ordering
Please see our Customer Service page for our guide "Ordering Online is Easy" for instructions on placing an order.
By completing and submitting an electronic order form, you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a binding contract. Please note orders will only be despatched once we have authorisation from your payment card issuer. We will not be liable if there is a delay, and we will not accept your order if payment is not authorised.
Certain steps must be followed for a contract to be formed, as described below.
After you have placed your order:
1. We will send you, as soon as possible, an email to acknowledge your order. It will confirm which goods you have ordered. This email is not an order acceptance from us.
2. When we despatch your goods, we will send you a confirmation email. This means we formally accept the order, and are obliged to complete the contract.
We do not have to accept your order, and for example, we will not accept your order if:
- we do not have the goods in stock
- your payment is not authorised
- there is an error on our website regarding the price or other details of the goods
- you have cancelled it in accordance with the instructions below
We reserve the right to refuse any order.
Cancelling an order before despatch
If you change your mind after placing an order, you can cancel it at any time before we despatch it. Please email us at careline@tarkajewels.com. You will need to give us your name and address details, as well as your order number to cancel your order.
Returning goods after despatch
Cooling off period
When you order from us online, you are entitled to a cooling off period after despatch, when you can return your goods without any penalty. Our cooling off period is 14 days, which includes any statutory cooling off period.
This period starts the day the contract is agreed (i.e. you receive an email from us saying we have despatched your order) and ends 14 days after the day following delivery of the goods.
Certain items are excluded from the cooling off period guarantee, unless we are at fault. These are personalised or engraved items and pierced jewellery.
Returning goods
If you wish to return goods, you have a legal duty to keep them in your possession and to take reasonable care of them until you return them. Please email us if you would like to return your order, and we will send you pre-paid labels so that you can return them for free. Goods must be returned in their original condition, including immediate packaging, retail tag and any jewellery boxes, within the cooling off period. We regret that we cannot refund items that have had the retail tag removed.
Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights. For further information on your statutory rights look at http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/.
Pricing and payment
Prices throughout the website are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and payment can only be accepted in Pounds Sterling. Prices include VAT.
While we make every effort to ensure that the goods shown on our website are currently available at the price shown, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If goods you have ordered are unavailable, you will be notified as soon as possible.
The price you pay is the price of the goods shown at the time you place your order, even if the price of the goods has since changed since you placed your order.
Your payment card will be debited for your order on the day that we despatch your goods.

Multiple Purchase Discounts and Free Gifts
- Buy 2 items in the same transaction and receive discount of 10%
- Buy 3 or more items in the same transaction and receive a discount of 15%
- Multiple purchase discounts still apply where the customer qualifies for a free gift where the purchase(s) are £95 and over.
- Discounts and free gifts are visibly applied during the checkout stage
Free gifts and special offers terms and conditions
Buy goods to the value of £95 or more and receive a free pendant worth £29. This applies even to single purchase transactions. Free gifts still qualify for free 1st class delivery and luxury jewellery box.
Free gift offers valid while stocks last. We reserve the right to vary the free gift at any time, and to offer an alternative piece of a similar design and value should no further stocks be available of the one on display on the homepage. However, we will endeavour as a first resort to offer the same free gift as is shown at the time that the order is made.
If you return an item under our 14 day cooling off period and you had qualified for and received a free gift, you must return both the item you paid for and the free gift, including any jewellery boxes received, with the retail tags intact. Similarly, if you purchase more than one item which brings your total up to the qualifying level for a free gift, should you return one of the purchases for whatever reason and so bringing your total below the qualifying amount for a free gift, you must return the free gift and its box. Your legal rights remain unaffected.
Where you purchase more than one item which qualifies you for a multiple purchase discount, it is the total amount due after the discount is applied that will determine whether or not you have qualified for a free gift. So for example, where the qualifying amount for a free gift is £95 or more, if the combined total for your purchases also reaches £95, you will not receive the free gift, as the amount due is reduced below £95 by the application of the multiple purchase discount.
Unwanted free gifts are not eligible for exchange or refund. Your legal rights remain unaffected.
Where an offer mentions that an item is reduced in price, eg: half price, the discount will be calculated at checkout.
Refund policy
Faulty goods
The procedures, set out here, to return goods do not affect your statutory rights. Further information on your statutory rights can be found at http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/. In the unlikely event that you do receive faulty goods, please email us at careline@tarkajewels.com for assistance in sending the item back for a full refund.
Exclusions
Please note certain goods cannot be returned unless we are at fault. These are personalised or engraved items and pierced jewellery.
Returning a gift
Cash refunds for gifts can only be made to the payment card used to purchase the goods. So if you buy a gift online, the recipient will not be able to get a cash refund if they want to return the goods. Instead, we will exchange them for Gift Cards to the value of the gift if returned within the 14 day cooling off period. The goods must be returned in their original condition with any jewellery boxes.
Care of your jewellery
Note that all silver jewellery is relatively delicate, and so rough handling may result in parts of it being broken. Care should be taken in the case of bracelets when carrying heavy objects, as weight placed on such items often results in breakages. This is especially the case when carrying small children on the bracelet arm. In such events, the customer is responsible for arranging and settling the cost of all expenditure associated with repair, including P&P where applicable.
